Dear Poketumblr,
I am aware that I haven`t been around and really don`t have a place to say this
lol who am i kidding
a lot of you guys are elitist assholes that really don`t have any basis. lmfao do you guys really know what roleplaying is? it`s not taking screenshots of tinychat or making seventy five percent of your posts starting off with “OOC:”. for people that actually enjoy roleplaying for what it is, it`s about letting your creativity flow. believe it or not, but roleplaying actually used to be a hobby for me, as well as a lot of other people. i`m not saying it`s all srs bznz, but, depending on what kind of roleplayers you surround yourself with, it can be an educational experience. personally, i polished my english with roleplaying. i would not even comprehend some of the words in highschool text if i hadn`t been involved with roleplaying.
but i digress, i`m getting off-topic.
i don`t know what it is, to be honest. is it the people or the medium of which they`re using that is affecting them? as a member of a few roleplaying communities on tumblr, i`ve observed it to be hard for anything serious to occur in regards to roleplaying. if you look at it strictly through this aspect, you can blame the medium. making people feel unwelcomed, however, and shooing them away? then it`s the people involved. i`m not sure if any of the popular poketumblrs are even following this, and i`m probably wasting my time writing this vent, but i`ll have you know there are people that actually want to roleplay in this community and they`ve been pushed to the corner because the popular blogs don`t recognize them.
case one: hibikini. she`s a great writer. she joined not to cause conflict or disrupt what the current gold had, but just to roleplay and have fun. instead of getting that, this gold was brushed off and ignored. what are you people expecting? you have no structure, no similar plot—so what is the problem with duplicates appearing?
this isn`t very structured. my thoughts are jumbled right now and i wish i could say everything i want to in a more concise manner.
TL;DR i hate how poketumblr came out of the strive for popularity. i hate the constant elitism here. i hate the constant out of character posts, i hate the people who can`t tell the difference between roleplaying and the actual person behind the character. they`re not the fucking same goddammnit, and if you can`t distinguish this shit then what the fuck are you doing saying that this is a roleplaying community?
( i hope you people took this as a hint that i am never logging onto this account again. if you feel the need to comment on this, here is my personal. also, to those who are an exception of this rant, you guys know who you are. ilu )
